The most underused part of most gardens is the boundary. The Vela corner sofa set makes a virtue of it. Set into the angle of a wall, a fence or a hedge, it turns the edge of the space into the part everyone gravitates towards, and leaves the middle of the garden clear.

Because the seating wraps around the table, everybody faces in. There is no one stranded on the end, no one with their back to the conversation, and no shuffling of chairs to include a late arrival. It seats eight when you need it to, with a bench and a stool that tuck in neatly.

It also does the work of two sets. The seating sits high enough to eat at properly, so lunch happens here and nobody moves afterwards, a real saving in gardens that could never accommodate a dining set and a lounge set side by side.

The Wheat colour cushions are a warm, forgiving neutral that sits happily against brick, timber or planting. Once it is in place, the set asks nothing of you. The aluminium will not rust, the woven rattan will not rot, and neither needs treating or storing when the weather closes in.

For Shade
A round or rectangular or parasol through the dining table's parasol hole, which throws enough cover to reach the outer seats. We'd recommend our Kratos, Styx and Zelos traditional parasols for this set which can be found here.

For Your Peace of Mind
Covers are removable and hand-washable throughout. The aluminium frame and rattan weave are made to stay out in all weathers; the cushions will keep their best if stored away when the set is not in use, and during periods of heavy weather. Recommended care products are listed below under Care and Assembly.

Store cushions indoors when not in use and follow washing instructions for covers. Regularly check for damage and repair as needed.

To maintain your cushions, clean them regularly with mild soapy water, and check care labels for specific instructions. Blot spills with a damp cloth, and let gel-based spills solidify before scraping them off. Store cushions in a cool, dry place when not in use, using appropriate cushion bags to prevent mold.
