The Golden Teak Shield is a maintenance product for teak wood furniture based on synthetic polymers, which resist water and dirt. This shield slows the growth of algae and fungi. To maintain teak’s silver-gray color for a long period of time, without getting green deposits, we would recommend using this shield should be used. The shield guarantees the typical light-gray patina of your furniture for a long time.
What's the difference between Golden Care's Teak Shield and Protector?
Teak Shield does not contain any colour pigments, so the product is transparent. The Protector forms a protective layer on the wood, while the Shield works differently—its resin particles bond to the wood molecules, repelling moisture and dirt to prevent mildew. Over time, this helps the wood develop a beautiful silver-gray patina.
How often should I apply Golden Care Teak Shield?
Applying Golden Teak Shield once a year is usually enough to protect your furniture. However, in areas with prolonged damp conditions, green deposits may form. To prevent this, we recommend applying Golden Teak Shield twice a year.
For non-whitewashed furniture, we would recommend applying the Teak Cleaner first, Teak Protector second and lastly using the Teak Shield. You should not apply the cleaner or the protector to whitewashed furniture.
