Over time, wooden garden furniture may naturally develop a soft grey appearance due to exposure from the sun. It may also develop small cracks and fissures due to changes in humidity and temperature, which is nothing to worry about. These features are inherent in wooden furniture and to be expected. The grain and character of the wood will differ from one piece to another.
How do I clean my furniture?
As a natural product, acacia wood requires regular maintenance and cleaning. Regularly wipe down the wood using a soft, clean brush and wipe down with a damp cloth. Always use placemats and coasters to protect any surfaces from dinner and glassware (remove mats and coasters when the furniture is not in use). Immediately wipe any spills to prevent permanent staining. Do not use a detergent containing ammonia or silicon as they can cause cracks on your wood table. Do not use an abrasive brush or cloth (for example, a steel wire wool).
How do I store my furniture during the winter?
During the colder months and periods of heavy rain, it is always best to store your furniture in a dry and well ventilated location, preferably under permanent shelter, to prevent excessive expansion or shrinkage of the wood. Alternatively, you can use a breathable, non PVC-backed furniture cover. Please read our guidance on covers below.
Should I use a furniture cover?
- We recommend covering your furniture to preserve the natural wood. It is important to use a breathable cover to minimise the risk of mould and mildew, we highly recommend our AeroCover range to protect your wooden furniture. You can find a helpful video on how and when to cover your furniture here.
- Cushions must always be removed from the set and stored in a cool, dry place.
- Do not use a PVC-backed cover as this is not recommended and may lead to damage to the wood. It is important to ensure the furniture is completely dry before covering, and you must check it at least once a month when covered to ensure there is no mould growth.
- Please ensure the cover doesn't come in to contact with the wood, there should be reasonable space for the wood to breathe. Support pole can aid in lifting your cover away from wooden surfaces.
How do I care for my furniture?
We recommend treating the surface with our Teak & Hardwood Shield to prevent stains and to safeguard against environmental damage.
Can I leave my cushions outside?
Whilst our Denali cushions are showerproof and will have a certain level of protection against the elements, we recommend storing the cushions in a sheltered dry location free from moisture to keep your cushions in the best condition during rainfall or when the furniture is not in use. For further safe storage we recommend our Large Cushion Storage Bag.
DELIVERY COSTS AND TIMINGS
Standard Delivery to mainland UK is FREE of charge on all orders over £50.
Standard Deliveries are made Monday to Saturday between 8am to 6pm (excluding public holidays). Your order will be delivered via the Harbour Lifestyle delivery team using our two-person delivery service or one of our trusted courier partners. We endeavour to deliver all orders (to mainland UK) within 10 working days of your order being placed.
DELIVERY EXPECTATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS
Geographical location and courier availability can restrict our delivery service to certain areas. We may not always be able to deliver our products to the Channel Islands, Isles of Scilly, the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland. If you are interested in having any of our products delivered to one of these areas, please contact our delivery team on 01223 626006 before placing your order so that we can provide a delivery quotation based on the products you require.
We’re also able to assist you if you’re looking to ship your item(s) internationally; whether you'd like us to deliver your order to a UK based freight-forwarder on your behalf, or you'd like us to arrange with our trusted courier partner to deliver your order to another country, please get in touch.To enable us to provide you with the best quotation it is important to have full details of the delivery address, as well as all products you wish to order.
DELIVERY DAY
On the day of delivery, you’ll be notified of your estimated delivery window within the hours of 8am – 6pm. The delivery drivers will endeavour to call you 30 minutes before they are due to arrive, so you’ll know when to expect them.
Our trusted delivery partners are unfortunately unable to access your property or garden; therefore, all deliveries will be made to the front of the property, this is known as a ‘kerbside’ delivery. If you are not in on the day you have arranged for your order to be delivered, you may be charged for a repeat delivery.
Our standard delivery service does not include set up or assembly of your items, or the removal of packaging materials. If this is required, please select either our Package Removal or Platinum Delivery options.
RETURNS AND CANCELLATIONS
We hope that you are happy with your products once they reach your home. If, for whatever reason, you change your mind and choose to return the item(s) to us for a refund, you will need to contact our delivery team on 01223 626006 or via email customerservices@harbourlifestyle.co.uk who will arrange a collection for you. After your item(s) have been returned to us, our customer care team will arrange a refund back onto the original payment method. A collection charge for unwanted goods will be incurred and deducted from the total refund amount.
HELP WITH MY DELIVERY
MY ITEM IS NOW OUT OF STOCK, BUT I’VE PAID FOR IT. WHAT HAPPENS NOW?
In the rare event that your item is out of stock after placing your order, we’ll email you to let you know. If you’re happy to wait and the item comes back in stock within 1 month, you’ll be billed and then we’ll contact you to organise delivery once it is ready to be shipped to you. If it’s still not available within 1 month, we'll cancel your order and refund you.
If you’re not happy to wait, please contact Customer services to cancel your order and process a refund or to select an alternative product.
